Thermal Imaging - Infrared

We use a Thermal Imaging Camera with every General Inspection that we do… Why?

Because Thermal imaging allows us to see things in ways that you cannot see with the naked eye! This allows for a more thorough and in-depth inspection and inspection report. It helps to allow us to see things like possible missing or wet insulation in walls, thermal temperature differences within the HVAC systems showing a loss of heat/air, or that the electrical outlet is overheating from a load it cannot handle!

Wood Destroying Insects & Wood Destroying Organisms

WDI / WDO Inspections

When it comes to living in Ohio, we deal with a great amount of Wood Destroying Insect’s such as: Termites, Carpenter Ants, Carpenter Bees, & Powder-post Beetles.

We also deal with Wood Destroying Organism’s in Ohio, such as: Wood Destroying Fungi’s.

We inspect the accessible areas of your home, interior and exterior, for any present signs, or pre-existing signs of a WDI. Then we report our findings in a: Pest-Control Inspection Report, so it can be documented for your understanding.

Mold Inspection

Between the color, shape, and size, mold is a problem that can be toxic and harmful to humans and pets. Mold comes from moisture over time, and can come from anywhere like; improper ventilation in the attic space, condensation dripping from a uninsulated cold water pipe, or a leaking foundation wall in a basement.

Determining the cause of the mold is the first step in removing the mold problem. We take the steps necessary to help you understand how to deal with said mold problem.

~SteelHead Property Inspections, can provide you with a referral for a Mold Mitigation Pro if requested.~

For any of the Inspections that you need, whether its a Home Inspection, or a Mold Inspection.

We want to make sure you’re satisfied, and understand the process!

Radon Inspections / Testing’s

Radon is a radioactive gas that forms naturally when uranium, thorium, or radium, which are radioactive metals, is broken down in rocks, soil and groundwater. People can be exposed to radon from breathing radon in air that comes through cracks and gaps within buildings and homes.

Radon gas exposure is the number one cause of lung cancer in non-smokers, and the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer in smokers!

A Radon test being conducted for the use of a real estate transaction of buying a home is done with a closed-condition short term test which takes 48-60 Hours of testing. For someone looking to have a Radon test done, who may already be living in their home, a long term test should be conducted to get accurate results of Radon levels within the home. Long term testing is 90+ Days but is the most accurate/best result for Radon testing within a home, to tell you if mitigation is the move to fix your home.

We use a CRM (Continuous Radon Monitor) which allows us to get data right on the spot, versus sending it into a laboratory to await results days later. The EPA recommends if the results come back with 4pCi/L or Higher than the home needs to be fixed. If the testing results come back less than that number, the EPA says Radon levels can still lead to possible health risks, and fixing the home may still be a healthy decision.
